God has been MOVING in a big way. If I could put it all into words I would but I really can't.
I've been continuing reading in 1 Samuel as well so I think I will start there.
1 Samuel 7:9 ESV says "So Samuel took a nursing lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. And Samuel cried out to the LORD for Israel, and the LORD answered him"
If there is anything I have learned in these 6 days it is that like Samuel we are chosen for God's purpose. We are loved more than we can imagine and we were created for a purpose. Just like Samuel an offering was given, a lamb was slain and just like Samuel we can cry out to the Lord and we will answer.
This is a beautiful truth that the God of the universe who is Holy and all knowing, is yet still personable. He is the bridegroom and we are the bride which is an intimate and sweet intimate relationship. Of course He will answer when we call. Of course He loves us and yet despite knowing that we still worry, we still forget. I'm guilty of it. 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22, Philippians 4:6, Matthew 6:25-34, and many others all urge us to let Him take our worries and trust in Him alone. Perhaps one of the hardest things to do and yet I know that praying for God's presence can bring that.
One girl I challenged to join the 30 minutes of prayer shared with me her experience in calling out to God. What's beautiful about this person is that we don't even live in the same state and yet the state lines are no match for the movement of God. This is what she sent me:
"Tonight in my 30 minutes of prayer I cast all my worries on the Lord, like the bible teaches us. Well I don't guess I have ever really fully cast my worries to him because tonight when I did I had an amazing feeling. I literally felt a rush of relief flood my body. I truly feel the spirit came to me tonight. what an amazing Lord we serve!"
What a beautiful testament to the power of prayer. There is something healing about it and I just find it so encouraging that like Samuel called and the Lord answered, when we call the Lord will answer. He may not answer how we want Him to or how we expect Him to but no parent always answers a child in the way they want. Sometimes we get a Yes, sometimes a No, sometimes we get a Later but there is always an answer.
So as you continue to pray for His presence pray that He humble you enough to cast your worries on Him that you might then feel His grace. When you do I know He will answer so that we might call out as psalms does:
Psalm 138:3 "On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased."
In myself He is making me a lot stronger in Him and teaching me more and more about His character and His love. I'm finding as I call Him and pray for Him to show up that He does in ways I couldn't have ever expected. I'm so thankful for this challenge and all that it is teaching me and I pray that all of you who are doing it with me are learning just as much. I appreciate all of you who have shared with me what your learning as it is encouraging to me. I'm excited for God to continue moving in this and through this for it is all about Him and His glory.
