I hope you are doing well and that God is still your focus. I hope you are still praying for him to show up.
Outside my church is a sign that you see as your drive out that says "you are now entering the mission field." A beautiful sentiment but sometimes I think we need that same sign to be present on the drive in. Many times we assume those around us in the church pews are saved and the sad reality is that is not the case.
Hebrews 10:19-25 says this : 19 Therefore, brothers,[c] since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
A passage that tells us a bit what we are called to do as the church. We need to perservere and not wavor in our faith. We need to sir up good works in one another. We need to meet together. We need to encourage one another and we need to do this with the confidence of blood of Jesus. Don't get complacent friends. It's easy to to put in your hour or so on Sundays to check the box but we are called to BE the church. Not just attend but to truly seek the Lord. Believe it or not the church has a lot of nonbelieving attenders and even more astonishing is the number of people who call themselves a christian but don't pursue righteousness and don't display fruits of the spirit.
Hebrews 10:26 26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.
We must clean ourselves and pursue righteousness. We will always fall short and we will never be perfect but we must pursue it and persevere. So friends remember. Not only are we entering the mission field of the world but we can't neglect those who stand next to us week after week whether at a prayer meeting, a sunday service, a singles ministry or a bible study. We can't assume that anyone is saved but always be encouraging others to truly pursue Christ.
Congratulations. No matter WHERE you are--- you are in the mission field.
